He may be good enough to play McCabe’s, but we don’t care about that up here in the 805 — Ernest Troost is good enough to play the long-running Camarillo Café gig tonight, certain to cause a few folk-flavored tremors at the all-ages venue. Also on the bill are John Zipperer and his musical pals. While not a real cafe, it is a real venue, offering swell singer-songwriters an environment free of alcohol (and free of people shouting for “Free Bird”) where the audience comes to hear the songs and not text (so much).

Exclusive: Kim Basinger, Heather Graham, Catherine O’Hara and Jason Patric are in final negotiations to star in dark indie comedy “Fortune” with Clark Johnson directing.
Jack Nasser and Joseph Nasser will produce and finance through their company Nasser Group North. Oren Segal will executive produce through his company Management Production Entertainment. Production is set to begin Aug. 29 in Canada.
“Fortune,” penned by the scripting team of Nancy Fichman & Jennifer Hoppe, revolves around a petty thief who pledges to save his life after a roadside killing; and two financially destitute sisters who grudgingly team up to track down a female mobster for bounty.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Guinness World Records has recognized a Michigan boy as the youngest professional drummer.
Julian Pavone was certified as of March 21, 2010, when he was 5 years 10 months and 3 days old, Guinness announced Tuesday.
The rules for London-based Guinness say a drummer must play on at least one commercial record and be paid for the work. T
