Melanie Fiona had the city of Philadelphia rocking at this weekends Global Fusion Festival. The R&B songstress performed a selection of hits from her debut album, The Bridge, including Give It To Me and It Kills Me and previewed new music from her forthcoming LP, The MF Life, including Gone And Never Coming Back and the brand new This Time. In addition to crooning her hits, Fiona also covered Lauryn Hills classic hit Killing Me Softly.
The annual free event, produced by the Multicultural Affairs Congress (MAC), a division of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, had a Carnival theme in its fifth year.
Im from Toronto, one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world, so I always pride myself in music being the thing to bring people from all over together. Im coming to jam out! said the Guyanese singer prior to the event.
