If anyone questioned whether actor Jared Leto was completely invested in his band, Thirty Seconds to Mars, the last few years should resoundingly put those doubts to bed. After releasing of 2005′s “A Beautiful Lie,” the band spent the better part of three years on the road, and that work paid dividends: the album went platinum in the U.S. and sold well abroad. Then things got tougher, in the form of a $30 million lawsuit from Virgin Records that accused the group of refusing to deliver on its contract. Leto continued working on new material, but it was late 2009 before the dust settled and Thirty Seconds to Mars re-emerged with its third studio album, “This is War.” After showing Connecticut plenty of love in 2010, playing B.O.M.B. Fest in the spring and the Webster later in the year, 30 Seconds to Mars returns early in 2011 to headline the Oakdale Theatre (95 South Turnpike Road in Wallingford) on Saturday, Feb. 5. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show with Middle Class Rut are $35.35 to $41.50 ($22 to $26.50 before fees). Information: 203-265-1501 or http://www.livenation.com. Brian Lee, Special to The Courant
