Thesp-turned-helmer Richard E. Grant will direct comic Western “In With the Outlaws,” from writer-producer Nicholas Sercombe.

The $10 million pic is to lense in late spring and will be shot on location in West Sussex in southern Blighty. Cast has yet to be unveiled. Story follows a sheriff forced to take on his notorious outlaw family.

Sercombe will finance pic via private equity from the U.K., the U.S. and Canada and is in negotiations for a local distrib and international sales agent. “Outlaws” is Grant’s second helming effort after 2005′s “Wah-Wah.”
