Josh Radnor, who stars as Ted Mosby in the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother, will detail his journey from Bexley to Hollywood in his upcoming memoir, One Big Blissful Thing.
The book also will make an unexpected stop in Brazil, where Radnor apparently hung out with a shaman in 2007 and helped himself to some ayahuasca, an indigenous plant medicine known for its hallucinogenic properties.

Erica Fernandez, a Stanford student from Oxnard, continues to garner recognition and awards for her environmental activism.
Fernandez’s latest achievement came at the seventh annual MY HERO International Film Festival last month in Los Angeles, where the 2011 Daniel Eldon Activist Award went to the short documentary “Erica Fernandez: The Tool of Protest.”
Narrated by Fernandez, the six-minute film was produced by The Working Group, an Oakland-based nonprofit media company contracted to produce Sacramento-based Unity Lab’s “Tools of Unity” short documentary series.
The film tells the story of Fernandez, 21, who came with her family from Mexico to Oxnard at age 10.

MARSHALL, Ill. — Join the Harlan Hall Entertainment Committee for a fabulous night of fun and frolic at the Winter Wild Sock Hop on Saturday at Harlan Hall.
Entertainment will include DJ Dan Crews, who will play favorite hits from the 50s, 60s, and 70s (and maybe some more modern tunes as well). There will be mini dance contests for the jitterbug (swing dance), the twist and disco complete with prizes.
Guests are encouraged to dress in the style of their favorite musical decade. Snacks will be provided, and a cash bar will be available. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. CDT, and the DJ plays from 8 to 11 p.m.
There will be a cover charge at the door of $7 per person or $12 per couple.
